Why Fine Art Photography

There are certain dynamics in light and shadow that without an emotional charge they cannot be detected or noticed while looking at a piece or art, regardless the medium. Photography is one of the best mediums to capture those feelings and the state of mind of that moment in time.

Body language, light and sometimes the use of obstruction or subtraction the main subject or object from the frame creates emotional connections or reactions with the viewer. That is (to me) the “magic” of my craft.

The Things We Miss | A photography study

  • Sometimes it is critical to prepare the audience or viewer. Bringing an introduction or an informative preface is important. It prepares ones senses to read and understand better the world he/she is entering.

  • In this triptych I wanted to show how the mind and the eyes of the viewer can crawl deeper and notice details that would not normally notice if certain parts of a body were visible.

  • By hiding ones eyes in a photograph especial when showing only one person, the viewers eyes tend to wonder. Tend to look around more in search of more information. It is known that the eyes of a viewer reading a photograph "read" the image in a circular motion in a peripheral way. Disturbing this route makes ones eyes "travel" in other directions.
